I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. John 10:14-16
At Southern Beaches Anglican we are a bunch of ordinary people living extraordinary lives as we follow the example of Christ. We seek to love each other and love the community around us so that people might know of the life transforming power of the Gospel (Good News of Jesus).
Our location: Southern Beaches is an area 10 minutes south of Hobart airport and 40 minutes south east of the city of Hobart. It is marked by surf beaches and quiet bays, thriving small communities and a growing population.
Our Leaders: Jamie and Claire Bester, with their three young children have moved into the Southern Beaches community. Jamie has worked in a diverse range of roles including: School ministry, youth ministry, Indigenous mission, prison ministry, mentoring and coaching and leading small groups, including missional communities. Jamie and Claire have spent the last year in the Inner West of Melbourne gaining experience with a new inner city Church plant. In this time Jamie studied at Ridley Theological College undertaking the final stages of a Masters of Divinity (Theology and Ministry). Jamie and Claire love camping, the beach and gardening with a real love for community living focused on hospitality.
